Am I a Candidate for Lip Implants?
The Lip Implant Procedure
While injectable fillers such as Restylane® and collagen offer several benefits including ease of use and quick recovery, they are not long-term solutions. Injectable lip enhancement procedures must be repeated every 6-12 months to maintain fullness. Therefore, our surgeons also offer several lip lift in Denver. Which will provide you with very natural-looking and long-lasting results.
If you prefer, we can also perform your lip augmentation procedure using fat transfer. At your initial consultation, our board-certified plastic surgeons can explain the pros and cons of this procedure in greater detail.
PermaLip™ Lip Implants
PermaLip is a permanent implant made of very soft, solid silicone. It is an excellent option if you are looking for a permanent solution that does not require additional upkeep after the initial procedure. Your results will appear soft, natural, and full. PermaLip implants can be easily removed without causing harm to your lip, providing an additional benefit over other lip implants.
Our plastic surgeons can perform the augmentation procedure on an outpatient basis using a local anesthetic. The entire surgery can be completed in about an hour, and there are a variety of sizes in order to provide more customized results. PermaLip does not rupture, grow into the surrounding tissue, harden, or degenerate over time.
Advanta PTFE Lip Implants
Advanta PTFE lip implants are an effective option to help you achieve fuller lips. They are made out of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), a soft, flexible, compressible material similar to Gore-Tex. PTFE implants have a soft, natural feel, and they are available in a variety of sizes and shapes to achieve customized results.
This is an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia. The plastic surgeon will make a small incision in the corners of your mouth and insert your implants using a needle. PTFE implants are non-resorbable, and the additional lip volume achieved is permanent.
Recovery and Follow-Up Care
You will most likely experience a significant amount of swelling following your procedure which may take about two weeks to subside. Frequent use of ice packs will help with the swelling. You should only consume soft foods that do not require chewing while you recover. Some patients may experience numbness in the treated region. This will gradually subside within a month.
An Artistic Approach to Plastic Surgery
Our surgeons approach every lip implant procedure from the perspective of an artist. Their primary goal is to achieve a beautiful, natural result which enhances your other facial features. Your unique facial contours will be carefully considered when determining the ideal procedure to accomplish your aesthetic goals.
