Liposuction | Denver | Beverly Hills, CA - Grossman Capraro

What is Liposuction?

If diligent diet and exercise regimens have fallen short of helping you achieve your ideal figure, you are not alone. Our bodies are genetically predisposed to store fat in certain locations, and for many people, this means fat gets deposited in the last place we’d ever want it to go. If this describes your situation, then you may benefit from liposuction.

Liposuction is a safe and effective method to remove stubborn pockets of fat that have been resistant to diet and exercise, helping you achieve the toned, sculpted figure you desire. Due to its ability to sculpt a wide range of body areas, liposuction is one of the most popular body contouring procedures performed by our plastic surgeons.

Liposuction Techniques

At Grossman | Capraro Plastic Surgery, no two liposuction surgeries are performed alike. Dr. Grossman, Dr. Capraro, Dr. Baker, and Dr. Cunningham will customize your procedure to address your unique physical characteristics and aesthetic goals.

All of our liposuction procedures are performed with a combination of tumescent liposuction and VASER® liposelection. When used together, the two techniques complement each other very well. VASER technology is used to disrupt your fatty tissue, and traditional methods are employed to remove your fat. This combination results in optimal levels of precision and safety.

Tumescent Liposuction

The tumescent liposuction technique involves the use of a special solution containing a combination of dilute local anesthetic and adrenalin that gets injected into your fat. The adrenalin reduces bleeding and the local anesthetic delivers anesthesia directly to the treatment region. This fluid also serves to separate the fat to facilitate its removal.

After the tumescent fluid has been injected into the treatment region, a narrow tube called a cannula is used to remove the unwanted fat cells via suction. For more limited procedures under local anesthesia, a more concentrated form of this solution is used to achieve more effective results.

Am I a Candidate for Liposuction?

Liposuction can be the right procedure for anyone who has stubborn pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. Ideal candidates for liposuction:

  • Are in good overall health
  • Exercise regularly
  • Are physically fit
  • Have one or more localized areas of fat to be removed
  • Are within 20 pounds of their ideal weight
  • Have good skin elasticity

It is important to remember that liposuction is not a tool for weight loss. It is used to remove small pockets of fat from targeted regions of your body in order to achieve a more attractive body contour. While liposuction can be an effective complement to your diet and exercise efforts, it should not be considered a substitute.

Facial Liposuction

While liposuction is most commonly associated with body contouring techniques intended to sculpt regions such as the abdomen, thighs, arms, and buttocks, it can also be very effective as a facial enhancement procedure. Isolated fatty deposits in the cheeks, jawline, and neck often do not respond well to diet and exercise.

At Grossman | Capraro Plastic Surgery, we can perform facial liposuction to help you get rid of unwanted pockets of fat in these areas. Liposuction can effectively remove excess fat from the following areas of the face:

  • Under the chin
  • Along the jawline
  • Neck
  • Cheeks
  • Jowls

Areas Liposuction Can Treat

Both men and women can benefit from the body sculpting enhancements provided by liposuction. This versatile procedure can be performed on just about any area of the body where you have excess fat that you would like removed. Common areas treated with liposuction include:

  • Face, neck, and jowls
  • Breasts
  • Upper arms
  • Abdomen
  • Back
  • Hips
  • Thighs
  • Buttocks
  • Chest (during male breast reduction)

Fat Transplantation – Put Your Excess Fat to Good Use

It is now possible to put your unwanted fat to good use. Grossman | Capraro Plastic Surgery uses fat transplantation in conjunction with procedures such as breast augmentation and the Brazilian butt lift in order to add volume and fullness to these regions of your body. In recent years, fat transplantation procedures have improved considerably, resulting in high-quality results that rival other breast and buttock augmentation options.

Dr. Grossman and Dr. Capraro employ sophisticated techniques for harvesting, cleaning, and transplanting your fat cells in order to achieve a very natural-looking appearance. If you are interested in enhancing the size and shape of your breasts or buttocks while improving your overall body contour, fat transplantation may be the ideal procedure for you.

VASER® Liposelection: VASER Liposelection is an advanced body contouring procedure that selectively removes areas of unwanted fat. A minimally-invasive alternative to conventional liposuction, VASER Lipo is one of the most effective and technologically-advanced fat-reduction methods available today. The procedure utilizes ultrasonic energy to emulsify unwanted fat cells and gently sculpt your contours.

One of the many benefits of VASER Liposelection is its ability to differentiate targeted pockets of unwanted fat from other important tissues, such as nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. The process emulsifies fat while preserving these tissues, resulting in better outcomes, less downtime, and a faster recovery.

VASER Liposelection offers patients a wealth of benefits, including;

  • Effective removal of stubborn fat pockets
  • Long-lasting, natural-looking results
  • Immediate improvement in the treatment area
  • Less swelling, discomfort, and downtime than traditional liposuction
  • Ability to treat multiple areas in a single session
  • Smoother skin and more even results compared to conventional liposuction
  • One-time treatment

These versatile procedures produce a wide range of outcomes. Although there are many objectives that can be accomplished, the most common issues addressed with body contouring include:

  • Loose, sagging skin
  • Excess fat
  • Areas of poor definition
  • Dissatisfaction with current body shape or pockets of fat
  • Desire to define, tone, smooth, and/or re-shape one or more areas of your physique
